Powder South Heli-Ski Guides is today South Americas's premier helicopter skiing operation, located in the heart of the Central Andes of Chile. After 4 seasons of successful operation, we proudly continue to offer excellence in heli-skiing deep in the enchanting and rugged Andes Mountain Range of southern South America.

Powder South Heli-Ski Guides has made a quantum leap in South American helicopter skiing. Previously, informal operations have offered vertical runs near ski areas. At Powder South, we present an entirely new dimension of remote heli-skiing with world class standards and vast terrain for skiers and snowboarders from around the world.

We offer week long packages of absolutely the best heli-skiing in South America. Our location in the Southern Hemisphere enables us to offer alternate season heli-skiing during the Northern Hemisphere summer, complementing the opposite Northern Hemisphere helicopter ski season. Only New Zealand offers skiing during the same season. We are closely modeled after Canadian helicopter skiing operations and offer a distinctly different experience than New Zealand heli-ski operations. Our heli-ski packages are culturally unique and reflect the generous hospitality of the traditional Chilean mountain lodge, as well as offer you world class skiing or snowboarding unsurpassed in South America.

We have explored and skied in the Andes Mountains for over two decades, demonstrating our strong presence and long-time reputation in the ski and high-altitude mountaineering industry. We bring a unique combination of years of experience and innovation in mountaineering and ski mountaineering in the Andes Mountains to our heli-ski operation. We are pioneering a new level of heli-skiing in this beautiful mountainous region of South America. Our heli-ski packages offer thousands of vertical feet of untouched champagne powder in the most alluring and pristine terrain the Andes has to offer during June through October, the Southern Hemisphere's winter season.

Our guides

We are a team of highly skilled professionals. Our heli-ski guides are UIAGM/IFMGA Internationally Certified Mountain Guides with years of experience in the heli-ski industry worldwide, with vast experience guiding in Alaska, Canada, India, Russia, Europe, and South America. They are leaders in their profession and possess the expertise and talent to guide your heli-ski/snowboard adventure and to find the best possible snow and terrain for your enjoyment, with the safety only a professional can provide.

Our Pilots

Our pilots are highly trained and experienced professionals with thousands of hours of flight time in the Andes. They know the Andes Mountain Range exceedingly well. Our pilots manage landing zones at high altitude with superior expertise, and demonstrate the dedication expected of successful pilots in their profession. We are confident to say that our pilots are by far the finest helicopter pilots available in the Southern Hemisphere

Each helicopter is equipped with a GPS, satellite phone, VHF radio to maintain contact with the lodge and our guides, first aid, oxygen, avalanche, rescue, and survival equipment. We use state of the art year 2005-2006 AS 350-B3 Helicopters, and a Lama in some occasions for small groups.
