Anjan Truffer - Heli-Ski Guide

Internationally Certified Guide. Born and raised in Zermatt, Switzerland where he resides with his wife. In winters he has been guiding in Canada for CMH, for the last 8 years, and now mixing it up in summer with South American heliskiing in Chile with POWDER SOUTH. He has also heli-ski guided widely in Europe, especially around Zermatt and Val d' Aosta, as well in Greenland and Alaska. Anjan has guided in the Chilean Central Andes extensively on Tupungato, Aconcagua, Llullaillaco, Pissis, Bonete, Mercedario, Marmolejo, San Jose and el Plomo. He has also guided on Alaska's Mount McKinley (Denali), Cho-Oyu, Ama Dablam, Elbrus and many peaks in Peru. Anjan speaks English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Internationally Certified Guide. Guide for 23 years, Marc is a French Guide, born and raised in Courchevel, France. He is the co-founder of the Mountain Guides Association in Courchevel. Since the year 2000, he has been running a heli-ski operation in Greenland. Mark has traveled the world heli-skiing; Canada, Alaska, Chile, Turkey, Spain, Caucasus, and throughout the Alps. His specialty is adventure travel worldwide, trekking, climbing and skiing in Nepal, Tibet, New Zealand, Kilimanjaro, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, China, and Uzbekistan. Speaks French, English and Spanish.

Internationally Certified Guide. Stefan is from Sweden and has been guiding all over the world for the last 23 years in search of perfect snow, good climbing and challenging summits. After several seasons in Chamonix, he traveled to many different places in the world. Stefan owns Heliskiguides Sweden. He lives in the French Southern Alps. His specialty has always been adventure travel, specializing in climbing and skiing. We feel honored to have Stefan as one of POWDER SOUTH Premier Heli-Ski Guides.

Pete Patterson - Heli-Ski Guide

Pete Patterson - Heli-Ski Guide

Pete has been guiding heli-skiing for the past 28 years. His guiding career began when he retired from 9 years of ski racing for the US Ski Team. While on the US team, he skied in 2 Olympics (capturing 5th in the Downhill in 1980) and in the ‘78 World Championships, won a bronze medal. Pete has guided for Sun Valley Heli-Ski (the first USA heli-ski operation) since 1984 and for the past 11 seasons in Greenland. Pete has climbed and skied many Himalayan peaks along with numerous volcanoes of Mexico and South America (including the first telemark ski descent of the Polish Glacier route on Aconcagua). Pete also owns and operates his own adventure travel company, Mountain Spirit, which focuses on skiing, climbing and trekking trips in countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Ladakh, Greenland, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.

Didier Eynard - Heli-Ski Guide

Internationally Certified Guide. Ski Guiding for over 20 years, Didier has done a large amount of heli-skiing in Switzerland, Italy, Greenland and Chile and backcountry ski trips in the Alps, Morocco and the Norwegian Fjords. When not pursuing skiing in the wildest places Didier also works as a Mountain Guide in the Vanoise Massif and throughout the Alps. He has climbed all over the world, as well as in the Himalayas (Cho-Oyu). He speaks French and English.

Jean Pavillard - Heli-Ski Guide

Jean Pavillard - Heli-Ski Guide

Has been a professional ski and mountain guide for twenty-two years. Born and raised in Switzerland, Jean developed his mountaineering skills through the tradition of Swiss mountain guiding by apprenticing and attending national courses. Jean has been the technical director for the American Mountain Guides Association and was instrumental in helping the AMGA become a part of the international guiding association. He is certified by the Swiss and American guiding associations and is a member of the International Association of Mountain Guides. He has guided all over the world teaching courses on all aspects of mountaineering for several national organizations. He has worked as an examiner during the national testing for the American and British Mountain Guides Associations. Jean has been featured in a number of publications: Couloir, Ski, Sports Illustrated. These articles clearly define Jean as a leader in the industry dedicated to the development of education for safe mountain travel.

Dominique Fellay - Heli-Ski Guide

Internationally Certified Guide. Guide for 16 years. Dominique is a Swiss guide with a tremendous amount of experience in the Alps. He works as a Mountain Guide in the summer and as a Ski Guide in the winter. He has skied and climbed in virtually every massif of the French and Swiss Alps. He has also guided extensively in Alaska, and in South America. He has climbed Patagonia’s North Tower of Paine, Guillaumet, and has made an attempt to climb Fitzroy. He lives in the Swiss Alps, outside of Sion. Speaks English, German, French, and Spanish.

Tom has climbed and skied extensively in Western USA, Alaska, Canadian Rockies, New England, and the Alps. He has been on expeditions to Nepal and South America. Twenty years experience as a ski guide/instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Ski descents of many Teton peaks including Grand Teton. Heliski Guide for POWDER SOUTH in Chile and Lead guide for Alaska Rendezvous Heliski Guides outside Valdez, Alaska. Tom lives in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Internationally Certified Guide. Has extensive guiding (17 years) and instructing experience 
in all realms of climbing and skiing. His work has taken him to many different areas 
around the world. Utilizing his ability to organize exciting and interesting trips, prepare very challenging goals for his clients and helping them to hone their skills in the
 mountains, he has developed many lasting relationships. Kent is one of the few Americans
 who has passed the rock, alpine and ski mountaineering exams to become UIAGM /
IFMGA certified. Over the past 20 years Kent has skied, climbed and guided in Europe, 
Patagonia, Chile, Canada, Mexico, Himalaya (China, Nepal, Tibet), Japan and the major hot
spots around the United States. He has also worked 14 winters as a Heli-Ski Guide, in the mountains of Alaska (Girdwood, Haines, Tordrilllos, and Valdez), Greenland, and
 in Chile with POWDER SOUTH. In 2005 he climbed to the Central Summit of Shisha Pangma
 (8000 meters) in Tibet without oxygen and then completed the first ski descent down the 
Untsch Couloir.

Kevin is from the USA and is the Chief Operating Officer and Lead Guide for Wasatch Powderbird Guides and Powderbird International. Powderbird is based in Snowbird, Utah and specializes in private and small group ski trips to deep powder caches around the world. Kevin developed his guide skills by apprenticing at Powderbird and gained further experience in snow safety and emergency first aid as a member of the Alta Ski Patrol. He has over twenty years experience in all facets of the heli-ski industry, mountain search and rescue, and avalanche control. In addition to his extensive experience heli-ski guiding in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, he has also guided in Alaska, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Turkey, Nepal, Chile and Greenland. He lives in Alta, Utah.

36 years of experience. Jerry has pioneered more than 300 first ski descents in the Chugach Range of Alaska. Jerry has heli-ski guided longer than probably anyone we know, with an excellent safety record, and innovation, accomplishing hundreds of first descents and exploring Alaskan heli-skiing to a new level in the early 90's.

Philippe is from France and has traveled all over the globe searching for deep powder and glassy waves before settling down in Chile, where he found both. After dedicating twenty ski seasons to ski patrolling in France, USA and Chile, he decided to enter into the mechanized ski industry (heli-skiing), where his extensive snow safety knowledge and rescue skills are highly appreciated by POWDER SOUTH HELI-SKI GUIDES. Philippe also works as a ski instructor and is Lead Instructor for volunteer and pro ski patrol courses in Chile. Philippe speaks French, English, Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
